About The Curious Mind
The Curious Mind is a South African online store for people who like to build, tinker and think with their hands.
We sell metal mechanical model kits, working Stirling engines, DIY assembly kits, metal puzzles, fidget toys and the tools to build them, and we deliver nationwide from our warehouse in Somerset West, Western Cape.
Why we started
We started The Curious Mind because we wanted a better way to switch off from screens.
Building a 250-piece radial engine or a mechanical scorpion takes patience and focus, and at the end you have something you made yourself that actually moves.
We wanted South Africans to be able to buy these kits locally, with clear prices in Rand, fast delivery and someone to talk to if a part is missing.
